Nacy,
Not sure what broadcast you are talking about?
Myself, I call High School football and we have not called a team names the eagles.
It may be a USM game or Gulf Coast Bulldog game?
But thanks for the Post and for listening.
Matt

SmileYour coverage is great but the attitude for out of town players on the Eagles team by the local supporters is somewhat questionable. I have a family member on the team and I support all the team players.

RE: Coverage of the St. Stanislius vs Quitman playoff game.....even though my team didn't come out on top, I wanted to thank you for the "quality" coverage of the game. You provided details..play by play...almost as good as being there. Good job!

re President's speech. Please understand that the text of the speech was made available only because conservatives insisted. Additionally, the "talking points" for the teachers to discuss with high school students (many of whom will be voting in the next election were cancelled due to conservatives' outcry. Now that I have read the text I have no problem with his speech as long as it is given following the transcript that was released. WHAT I DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH is the celebrity propaganda that is or was scheduled to be shown with the president's speech wherein they pledge allegiance to Obama (not the United States) - they ask what can you do for Obama (not your country). I have a VERY REAL problem with that.

I have found a page to email home depot to let them know we are not going to sit back and watch them shove homosexuality at our children. I am not sure who gest the email, but I am sure that if enough people email them to this address it will get back to the right people. Let them know they are losing customers by trying to get a foothold in the Gay market The Email page for home depot is here..... http://tinyurl.com/antidepot

Mary Helen, thank you for your comments! And you are right, the condition of a man's heart is far more important than the color of his skin. The problems of race relations in our country have been significant to me since I was a boy in the 60's growing up in Jackson, Mississippi. It has long been my heart's desire that we should put aside the differences of skin color and work together to make our communities a better place to live. So for me, to see an African-American win the office of President was an exciting moment in our history. Is Obama the right choice? In my opinion, no. But now that he is in office, we'll have to pray for him and learn to trust God even more! God bless and thank you for listening.

Mark, I appreciated your "10 truths" that remain constant despite the election results!! However, I was disappointed by your comments that as Christians we needed to be happy for this day in our Nation because of its historic significance - an African American elected to the office of President. I personally consider several moral issues (specifically Right to Life and traditional roles in marriage)to trump the importance of the race of a political candidate. Our new President-elect does not have a biblical worldview on these or many other topics. I would like to reference a remark by a conservative African-American leader from California whose comments were recently reported on your AFR news. If Americans said that they were voting for John McCain because he was "white" they would be called racists. In turn, to solely vote for a candidate because he is "black" is equally racist. That is a paraphrase of the comment, but I'm sure that you can find it in the AFR news archive from the last few days. As a Christian, I am not sad about the election of President-elect Obama because of the color of his skin; rather, I am truly sad for our Nation because as a people we have chosen a candidate who has clearly said that he values his own ideas of "right" over God's laws.("You shall not commit murder.) To end these com-ments, I would like to say that I recognize scriptures that say that God places leaders in their positions of power. So I know that God's purposes are being accomplished in the earth whether or not I personally support the ideas and policies of our new President.
